Island Day

When we're planning for this KK trip, I asked darling if he would like to climb KK and the answer is nope! So we planned for a relaxing trip. I was excited for the islands though my friend said Redang or Perhentian is much better. But it doesnt matter since I have not been to any of this pulau before.

Woke up early in the morning scare that we couldn't get any bus ticket to town but ended up waiting at the counter. 9am bus, and we reached 930am plus. The bus driver doesnt stop as at the Jesselton jetty. The Australia couple asked us to join them in one taxi so... why not! The ride from Warisan Square to jetty is RM 15. and they are too nice to pay for the taxi and do not want to take the RM 7.50 from us. Should have take a photo with them. Too bad... forget about that.

The ticket and thing like life jacket, fins........... all are expensive...

Photobucket

Here we go...

Photobucket
First stop at Manukan Island... this is the famous island among all. But it was too crowded!
I would prefer less crowd... seriously, I prefer to go some places that is more queit.... Have been seeing ppl here and there.... look into mirror also see ppl... I want to relax!!!!!! haha... sot jor...

Photobucket
alright... the only photo that took with my dslr... nice right? the sky behind was so blue on that day.................. haha... In fact all this island photos were taken by my boyfriend's digicam and I adjusted this photo so the sky looks blue-er (such a word?)...

There are buffet in Manukan Island, the seafood BBQ buffet looks good and smell good too... but it costs 90+ per person!! the other one cost cheaper like around 45. but we ended up with a coconut that cost RM8... very expensive lor...!

In the end we makan at Mamutik island with nasi goreng ayam... I stupidly thought that they goreng ayam will be the nice fried chicken... but... noooo... is the rice fried with chicken together! RM6 for one plate. This is acceptable although the fried rice is not nice to eat... but still you got to have a lunch on an island.... hmmm good right?

Photobucket
The second island that we went is Mamutik... less crowded but still ppl around...

Photobucket
The sea is actually quite clean.... but the sand is so rocky...

Photobucket
A lot of fishes flying in the water....................

Photobucket
waiting for the boat to take us back and end our islands day...

The time we reached town was already 5pm++ We will need to get back hotel and bath... so dinner today will be simple...

Photobucket
We're on the beach...

Some one was complaining that he wants seafood at PortView... but what to do? We have only RM100 left since we only out with RM100!!

After bath time to search for dinner... so the nearest was 1 Borneo shopping mall... We came to this restaurant, Fisherman Village, quite a famous seafood restaurant and they open up a branch in this 1 Borneo with Hotpot BBQ seafood buffet. RM 32 per person excluding tax. But the choice is limited and not as fresh as the other seafood restaurant. I guess those left over food from their seafood restaurant were shipped here and do their business as buffet style.

Steamboat
Steamboat...

The choice
The choices...

The choice

very less...

But they do refill the food...

the meat
BBQ the chicken, beef,.....

the prawn and crab
Crab and prawns.... and I BBQ the prawn for the busy bf.... see... he was damn busy cooking...

He's busy
I mean this... hahaha...

Crab
Done...

I'm busy
and I was busy eating... ended up too full....

I have been waiting for this holiday since months ago...

no much preparation, no much research too. My purposes are to eat seafood, big crab, fresh prawn etc etc etc... and to get myeslf tanned darker...  so... i prepared a tanning oil!!! hahaha...

Our hotel for the 4 days and 3 nights was TuneHotel which is real far from the town!! around 30 minutes ride! If you are not renting a car or not willing to pay for the taxi, this hotel is highly not recommended! RM40 to just take us from airport to the hotel. But there are alternative way too if you are willing to walk for a distance to wait for bus! TuneHotel is located at 1Borneo which is the largest shopping mall in east Malaysia... there are total 5 hotels in that mall. and if you have no idea where 1Borneo is, it is nearby University Malaysia Sabah. In order to attract more people or tourist to 1Borneo, they have this shutter bus that will bring you to town (Warisan Square), Sutera Harbour, and last stop at Tanjung Ara. We were depending on this free shutter bus for the 4 days and 3 nights stay in KK.

The checkin time is 2pm and someone was super hungry and can't wait to hunt for food. You know me, whenever travel to another place, I like to try out different food especially the local famous food!! and this... we have Pizza and the famous Pizza Hut!!! My god... pls don't laugh because someone's tummy can't wait anymore!

The lunch cost us RM40++ somemore not a local food!!!

After lunch was my sleeping time... yeah, the night before I slept at 3am after flying from Penang to LCCT, and not forgetting the stupid application file that being formatted where I need to come out another solution just right before I think I can peacefully off to my holiday!!

We catch the free shutter bus at 530pm (or 6pm) down to town to hunt for seafood!!!

Photobucket
hehe... Crab... and Prawn... please welcome me.............

To hunt for a cheaper food rather than have the seafood at Port View or other more expensive restaurant, we chose this open air seafood restaurants... there are few restaurants in this Sedco Complex, just a walking distance from Warisan Square, the dropping point of the shutter bus in town.

Photobucket
Fresh prawn which is a must have dish in KK... the fresh-ness is something that you can't find in any of the seafood restaurant here...

Photobucket
Butter (wet) crab... this is very much delicious... I have never try seafood with butter before... and this... yum!!!
RM40/Kg

Photobucket
Sayur manis with egg... the famous vege in Sabah...

Photobucket
This is where we have our dinner

This dinner with 3 dishes cost RM95.75(including 10% of gov tax)

Photobucket
We at the street back to Warisan Square

Photobucket
Here is where the pickup zone is.
